The 277th edition of Mandd Sobhann’s Monthly Theatre Series at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar, featured a memorable Musical Nite by nine-year-old Alani Leora D’Souza, who captivated a packed audience with her soulful rendition of nine Konkani songs. The evening began with the unveiling of the ‘Sardar Simanv’ play banner by Kalaangann Chairman Ronald Mendonca, marking Mandd Sobhann’s Silver Jubilee celebrations. Eric Ozario, Gurkar of Mandd Sobhann, presented Alani with a traditional Gumatt, symbolically passing on the Konkani music legacy. The event was inaugurated by Dubai-based philanthropist Vijay D’Souza. Alani performed songs composed by legendary Konkani artistes, supported by her trainer Shilpa Cutinha, singer Arvin D’Cunha, and the Blue Angels Choir. Music was directed by Mavish and performed by a talented live band.
